How Long is My Lab Test Valid For?
Push Health makes it easy to get connected with a Healthcare Provider to conveniently order lab tests online!
You can simultaneously fulfill your Patient Registration and submit your first request by filling out a 'Request Care' form at the link below.
Once you select a lab test, you will choose a lab location by inserting your zip code. It will list the closest Quest Diagnostics laboratories in your area. Unfortunately, Push Health doesn't have a corporate tie up with every Quest lab location. The search results won't display lab locations in certain areas of NY and all of Arizona state. Before visiting the lab you will first need to confirm if they accept walk-ins. Most Quest Diagnostics laboratories now require you to schedule an appointment beforehand.
If you are a new patient on Push Health the system will begin the process of matching you with a provider that is licensed in your state. If you're already registered on Push Health and have used our services before, the request will get sent to the current provider that you're matched with. The provider will review your request and issue a lab order once they approve it. You will be able to either download the PDF on your smartphone or print and carry it with you to your lab visit.
Taking the lab order with you will ensure that your results are posted under our corporate Push Health account. Often the lab technicians assume the tests have been ordered by your primary care physician. If they put the test under the wrong account we will not have access to your lab results and you will be directly billed by the laboratory or your insurance provider. When you visit please specify that this test wasn't ordered through your insurance and show them the lab order issued by your Push Health provider. This will ensure that we can promptly deliver the results as soon as they are available.
Push Health will send out regular weekly or bi weekly email notifications until you visit the lab and get tested. This is a system automated reminder to ensure that your lab order doesn't expire before you get your tests done. Generally, the lab orders are good for approximately 6 months from the date it was issued by your provider.
We hope this article helps you understand how long your lab test is valid for. Please send us an email us at help [at] pushhealth.com if you have any further questions.
